Today Stratton and I went to our favorite place to walk- this huge, long park that's full of people, ponds, and birds. I thought it would be great to get some pictures of Strat by the water. (He has to stay in his stroller because there is bird poop all over the grass.) I thought it was great with all the ducks and birds out in the water.
Unfortunately, the ducks think that when someone comes near the water they are going to get a treat of some sort. I did not bring duck treats today, but I did have baby treats. So, I threw a few of Stratton's favorite Sweet Potato Puffs out on the grass for the ravenous birds.
The birds liked the puffs as much as Stratton and started getting right by us, quacking, honking (I think geese "honk") and demanding more.
They weren't deterred by my kicking or shoo-ing and seemed sort of aggressive...
I was paranoid that this particular goose would bite off one of Stratton's little fingers or toes, and images of bloody-pecked eyeballs from "The Birds" kept popping up in my mind. So we started our retreat to the sidewalk.
Stratton was pretty upset by the whole thing. Maybe because the scary birds, or because as we made our escape I dumped the rest of his treats to distract the birds and buy us some time to get away.

Great pictures!
I love the one where he's straining to look over his tray to see the goose.
Ha ha! What an adventure! I loved all the pics. Birds kind of freak me out . . . I can totally relate with thinking about eyes pecked out. I just haven't been the same since I watched The Birds.
Great! You just ruined feeded ducks for me, forever!
I miss my grandson! And of course my daughter!!
Hi Amy! Don't ask me how I found your blog, I was just clicking away and BAM! Your little family is so cute! And I didn't know that you were in Arizona (that's correct, right?) Come check my blog and leave me some funny comments, I miss hanging out with you! (Do you remember that far back? I barely do!) Anyway, I'm going to add you to my link list if that's ok.
That is such a funny story! This is your old neighbor Suz by the way. Kara gave me your website. If you want to be invited to my exclusive blog, email me at paul.suzie@gmail.com
